depends which "hand", and which type of alternator. Some can have their handedness reversed, depends on the type. some have 3 bolts, and can be undone and turned through 120 degrees, then all you need is to remove the thread from the threaded hole and use a bolt and nut.
some have 4 bolts, and they can't, obviously, be altered.
