Disco Tax

Had my Discovery for a few months now, been sitting on the drive while carrying out all the work, it's now ready for the road, but need to tax it, got out the reminder to find NIL payment due, this is due to it being registered as an agricultural machine, good result but how does this stand under the law,any ideas????? the previous owner used it daily on the road.

yer only allowed to do a few miles a week, not allowed to carry passengers or cargo...

IIWY I'd re-register it as a PLG.

What's the classification on the V5 document? If it's "Limited Use", the following applies:

Tax free MoT exempt! Limited to 1.125 miles on a public road in any one use. Once you have done

1.125 miles, you must leave a public road, but you can rejoin again straight away.

To get a tax disc, you still need to produce a certificate of insurance.

You can change it back to "Private/Light Goods" by filling in the relevant section on your V5 document and sending it to your local DVLA office (NOT Swansea or the Post Office).
