Drafty vents

Is there any adjustment available on the vents/flaps on a 110? The drivers side flap appears to be staying open a tad and on these cold mornings there is a fair old draft blowing in. On the inside the closing control is moving as much as it can but it still stays open a bit.

I opened the vent up fully and peered in from the outside and couldn't see anything obvious.

Did I miss something or is there no adjustment?

There is no adjustment as such. If they are not closing fully even if the lever is at the end of its travel, the seals probably need replacing. You may get a bit more closing pressure by loosening the two small bolts holding the mechanism to the flap and making sure that the attachment is as close to the hinge as the free play in the holes allows. The seals appear to be OK, the flap isn't closing enough for the seal to do its job. I'll try adjusting the bolts as you suggest.

Mines the same, and I took it to bits to no avail! There is a solution though (well, it workes on mine!) - get someone to hold the lever inside so that the flap will move, and push it from the outside, then while pushing have your asistant let go. It doesn't go an extra "click" or anything, but it does close the vent properly!

I suspect that this method should not be used while driving.

You're right, to do that I'd have the assistant outside. :-)
