Engine management light

The engine management light come on after what I can only describe as a miss fire (only on a diesel) then the auto gearbox lights start to flash

Any ideas anyone

Yeah your headgasket has gone and has blown the seal between the transmission and gearbox.

Plan for a new engine and Gearbox.
