EX-MOD 110 info?

Hi there.

Been looking at the ex-MOD Landrover 110's over at Witham Special Vehicles website.

Has anyone on here driven one of these things? What's the typical MPG of these 2.5 NAD's, and what is the maximum speed they'll do?

Reason I ask is a colleague of mine, who's heavily into his 4x4's, reckons they only do about about 45mph and are heavy on the fuel consumption.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

TIA.

Driven plenty of these at work!?, look for around 23ish mpg and a top speed of around 70ish, not uphill or into a strong headwind or towing though!

I have a 2.5 n/a 110 csw and it'll top-out at 60mph but I know the injectors need recon and the tyres are aggresive cross-plies which doesn't help. I used to have a 110 van-bodies which I ran on michelin xzy's (love those tyres) and it'd do 70 easy enough.

Thanks for the info guys, in that case I think I'll go for a series 3

Dark Angel twisted the electrons to say:

I wound mine up to 85mph once ... Okay, it took a long(ish) downhill to get there however it did sustain it across the flat part of the valley to the uphill on the otherside. It wasn't exactly a pleasant experience though!

More reasonably, it would sustain 70mph on the level on m/ways however the speed would drop off when you hit the uphill sections (though I got

50mph on all the hills between Milton Keynes and Sheffield on the M1).

Can't remember what the fuel economy was like, however I don't remember it as being cripplingly expensive ...
