The Landy had a good recovery weekend.
WE had entered a local rally, and after the gearstick came out in my drivers hand (I am the Navi) we had to call it a day.
Fortunately, one of the other drivers went a little "too deep" into a corner, and after rolling over some sugar cane, landed his golf in the bottom of a pond. Just the corner of the roof was still above water.
Anyway, as I was there in my Landy,, and the only vehicle equiped with a winch (8274) it was out with the snatch block, chain etc and we tried to haul the wagon out. Naturally we had to pull it out through all the cane, so it was quite a haul. I let out all the cable on my winch as I knew it was going to be quite an effort. After going through the snatch block, we hooked the other end of the cable to my Mates Izu@# which he parked next to me, and started pulling. Well no one was more supprised than me, when after a bit of effort the wagon came through the cane sraight up the bank and after a final tug in lo rangee reverse, back onto the road.
After pulling out the dip stick of the sticken car, water came pouring out, so I guess that someone has a busy week ahead. Problem is the driver was borrowing the car from one of the other competiors so I am sure there will be some fancy negotiation ahead.
Anyway, the landy was most gratified by the experience as one seldom gets to play with all the recovery toys.
