The date as printed on my MOT form is the date the model was first released, my Series3 was confirmed as being built in August 1974 so no free tax disc for me. Tcha! Turns out it's a problem caused by the new computerised MOT system.

Right, 6 months of tax and straight onto eBay with it.

Just the first year or so of production, I snagged a '72 SIII a couple of months back, now I've got to spend all the tax savings on repairs and replacements.

Mine's 1971, LWB number 421. however, it's awaiting the attachment of a new front chassis leg, among other things.
