Hi group,
Just thought some of you may be interested in some of our vehicle shots from Iceland.
Cheers David.

Just who did you sell your Disco to after all that?
Heheheh, really, really nice pics. ;)
Stunning!!
Green with envy Steve G
I should also mention that none of this was offroad - these are all what pass for roads in Iceland. Sadly no photos of the impassable sand dune which you only reach after driving about 1KM up a river (ie, drive up the river bed itself, but the bloody great river is still flowing over it - and it's still a road!) Got there and totally failed to drive up the dune so had to turn round and drive back down the river, then winch out the other side.
Hmm, how about the alt.fan.landrover Iceland Expedition?...
David.
SteveG> Stunning!!
Agreed. Superb scenery and some excellent photos too!

Heheheh, trouble is ... Iceland is where the wife would _love_ to go ... ;)
How much, incidentally, did it cost you ? Don't need details, just rough idea .. ;)
What took you so long?
Well it isn't something you are likely to forget in a hurry, and I'm glad it was you and not me. My feet have gone cold just looking at the pics! ;-)
About £28K for 30 people for 5 weeks. This covered travel, accommodation (ie hiring the odd field), food and a few costly vehicle repairs.

Ahem, these "roads" are normally considered tracks here in Iceland, they are not included in the numbered road system but some of them are included in the F (mountain road) system.
Heheheh, that's a lot less than I envisaged .. methinks a plot [1] may be afoot shortly.
[1] Must talk kindly to swmbo for a while ... ;)On or around Sun, 23 Nov 2003 20:56:23 -0000, "David French" enlightened us thusly:
some good pix. The one of the 110 up to its ears (apparently) reminded me of an article in LRO once about the quality of swamp to be found in Iceland...
