Just thought people here might be interested in seeing an illustrated beetle resto project by one of our club members. It shows just what's invloved in taking on the challenge of restoring an old aircooled vehicle.

Thats great its nice to see someone willing to restore a beetle no matter how bad it is. I'm sure in years to come that I will see more projects like that. I know some would think thats a waste of time but there is enjoyment restoring an old car that will have more donor metal then original sometimes, I know I have done a few.

I agree, it's also a good way to unwind after work. Give a man a workshop and a project and watch him go :-) I think taking the car completely off the road to work on it, rather than chasing the rust and mechanics while using it as a daily driver is the best idea if you have a second car!. I think Dan has gone the way most of us would like to i.e. strip it down to the last lousy bolt and build it the way you want it!
