Insurance cover

I've just got my renewal notice for the insurance for my series 3, in the small print I noticed the following

"This policy will not cover loss or damage caused by fire to your car or it' s accessories being stolen or taken without your permission if your car is not in a securely locked garage between 2200 and 0600 hrs unless it is temporarily parked or garaged during the course of a journey"

This is through Sureterm and is supposed to be the same policy as last year but I checked all my documents for last year and this restriction is not there.

Sureterm will not discus this with me via Email and since in the past they haven't been much help over the phone I'm looking else where for insurance.

Has anyone got recommendations for insurance for a modified series 3 V8, agreed value, salvage retention option etc.

Also is this a common restriction on insurance?

Regards

Liam

It's common for them to ask if it's garaged or not. If you tell them "not" I'd not expect such a clause.

Got an excellent deal out of NFY Mutual this year, to my pleasant surprise, despite being in a city and sometimes parked overnight on-road. I like the idea of them being a mutual too.

Last year Adrian Flux were competitive for me. It's worth ringing around.
