Is there an easy way to detect a bad earth or am i in for a long weekend???

I have a 1987 RR V8 EFI.

I think its Fuse 13 that keeps blowing as soon as you put a fuse in. Even a

25amp one will pop immidiatly..

the only thing I can think of is that there must be a bad earth somewhere on the wiring loom. This means that I have no brake lights, indicators or difflock light (OMG!!).

Where the hell do I start to look to find the offending wire!!!!

Thanks,

Mark.

Make up a test light with a 12v 21w bulb connect this to two lengths of wire with two spade connectors on the ends and plug this in place of the fuse if you remove all the plugs to bulbs and switches if it lights up bright then you've got a short to earth if not keep plugging thing in till it lights up

That'd be a short circuit you're looking for. Likely places are where cables route through bodywork or possibly where something has recently been replaced and the cable has been nipped. Possibly something moved/broken behind the dash.

More likely to be a short circuit.
