Mission for Maddie - Wheel cover for 235/85 R16 or 750 Loan.

Before I go on I'd say that I'm hoping and praying that I can cancel this concept and Maddie turns up safe and well PDQI'd also ask that people reserve comment on the politics of missing people and views of parents who themselves are now facing the error of there ways.I'm off to tour Northern Spain and South of France for three weeks shortly. I've made enquiries locally and a company are going to adorn the 110 with images and posters of Maddie in Vynil wrap. They are doing this for free and do not wish to have any sponsor text etc on the posters. I have told them once it's done I will be posting images off to all the Landie mags along with a thankyou to them for there contribution. The idea behind the images to the Landie mags is purely to take advantage of the fact they get exported to all four corners of the globe and may reach audiences who know nothing / little of Maddies case. The Vynil wrap just peels off after the trip leaving the paint undamaged.Anyway, what I'm asking is can anyone loan us a rear wheel cover. The idea being this will be Vynil wrapped too so any text currently on it will be covered anyway. If the person donating same wishes I can return the cover after the trip or a agreed period of time and the vynil wrap removed.My rear wheel is a 235/85 r 16 so it would need to fit that. I understand the 750 covers may also fit. Cover should be smoother the better so the vynil sticks. I'm off Monday to get the 110 measured up for it's wrap. I understand that typical Disco type covers are way too small.You may ask what difference all this may make but having seen interviews in Italy on BBC News the day before the McCanns met the Pope many English Italians hadn't got a clue about Maddies case. My plan is that not only lots of Spanish / French residents will see the 110 but also Tourists from across Europe. The vehicle will be badged up in various languages and also be accompanied by leaflet / poster drops at stores and Petrol Stations on major routes. It...

Valid point. I read tofay a 10 year old went missing on an Holiday Island (I forget the name) several months back and the parents had written to the McCanns offering support. It's the first I'd heard about the 10 year old which kind of make the point about the idea abroad re Maddie.

I think anything that helps find them is a good idea. Unfortunately I only get to pop oversea once a year but I guess the back doors of waggons would be ideal and the Milk carton thing again cracking. We seem a bit slow on the uptake sometimes over here.

Yeah sound ok, we can sort something a bit closer to departure time. I'm still hoping we don't have to go to all these lengths. I guess if it could be set up with a blog kind of thing then it would be simple enough. I'd just need to seek out an Internet Cafe. I'm sure we won't be the only ones out there doing similar surely though.

We did the Miners track up and the Pyg track down.

Miners track is mainly smooth but then becomes scree in places.

Pyg Track is very bouldery in places and involves lots of hand scrabbling.

I understand the Snowdon Rangers Path is like a walk in the park up a big hill though not done it.

The Watkin Path I understand is tricky and Crib Goch (Sp?) is due to be closed after this year as it's too dangerous 300 ft long and 1 ft wide in places with 1500 foot drop one side and 2000 odd foot drop the other.

I think it's as hard as you make it really.

Dunno if you popped over but I was at work.

Keep in mind were taking folk up who normally walk from the car to the armchair so we've got to be realitively sensible. :-)

been pondering this one today... do it dude. Can't do any harm at all and if it encourages others to do the same even if only posters or leaflet drops then thats a good thing.
