OT : Firefox SSL initilization problem

One of the "loved ones" has downloaded a Trojan which was on a timetable page at London SB University Balckboard site. It was detected and removed but seems to have managed to corrupt the SSL when accessing a secure site. I have created a new profile for Firefox and overcome the problem but need to import the old bookmarks and cannot see a way to do it. I can import from the old IE we have but this does not have all the recent ones. Any help appreciated much much

Can you find your old profile ?

Steve

On linux, firefox keeps the bookmarks as an HTML file in the profile directory so if you can find the old profile's directory then you should be able to see bookmarks.htm or html, how about doing a drive search for the word "bookmarks"?

AFAIR on a windows box its in a hidden directory in Documents and settings - so make sure you can see hidden and system directories.

Steve

I can, but being lazy or unknowledgable, I was trying to avoid ( aha !! is it possible to cut and paste from the bookmark organiser ?? )

Like Ian said, your bookmarks are in the top level of your old profile.

Steve

Excellent thank you all, it worked.
