(Rear on 94 Discovery 300tdi (reg 20/6/94))
Bought pistons (Britpart GI 78350 corresponding to 606683)
put them in but they don't go in as far as the ones I took out. Will remove them tomorrow to check their size. (Can't believe they come in different sizes.) Can anyone advise?
Probably just got the stock mixed up.
Front pistons are longer than rear pistons. Front piston about 34mm long, rear piston about 28mm long. Diameters are the same.
the rears are 606696, they are 3/16" shorter.

You've got the wrong pistons - they should be 606696, the ones you have are for the front.
