Looking through some old photos yesterday, I spotted some of my previous Landrovers. I had an old Maroon coloured IIA registration 'JUL 609D'. Which was written off around 1988-89 when a police van crashed into it at 2:30am. Officer said he'd swerved to miss a dog! Originally cost me £600 from a guy in near Knutsford. Good nick too. I think it was scrapped for £50, I got £600 compensation though! My last Landrover, (before I had my spell with fast motorbikes!) was a light green Series III registration 'MDM 953L' it was tatty at first, but had been rebuilt from axles up. I paid £1500 for it had new wings put on, repainted etc. The gearbox gave in so I had a reconditioned one fitted. Went to Trentham gardens in it with my brother when the Lancashire and Cheshire Rover Owners Club held the ARC Rally there about 1990-91. Eventually sold it a couple of years after buying it, to a male nurse from Wirral as I recall. Just wanted to share that with you all, wonder if 'MDM 953L' is still going - it was mint!
