Series III valuation

Hi

I've been away for a while, but am now back in the club with a J-reg RR. I've also been offered a Series III which I'd like your advice on. It's a friend selling it to me, but I dont want to pay over the odd, neither do I want to rip the guy off.

Heres the spec:

1976 Preg Hard top (no rear windows cept tailgate) in Blue
88" perfect chassis - it's been garaged from new
10,000 genuine miles - he's owned it from new and never used the thing Overdrive Free wheeling hubs Unleaded head Deluxe seats

Only things it hasnt got are MOT, Tax and history, although i know he's serviced it, but only himself

He wants £2000 for it. I reckon it's a bit far from the mark as I sold my not so mint SIII for £1200 last year. This one would be in concourse condition with a small amount of cosmetic work.

What do you guys think??

I'd say £2000 is not far off for a concourse, or even anything close to concourse condition S3 .. ;)

Nice to have such provenance as well. My SIIa had eleven careful owners before I got it :)

i would say your probably ripping him off by a couple of hundred. sounds like it's basically in "off the production line" condition, with unleaded head, free-wheelers and an overdrive. i would pounce on that one very quickly. sounds like a very good deal to me!
