Seriess III recon gearbox

Jul 20, 2003 3 Replies

I'm looking for a recon gearbox for a Series III as mine jumps out of second. However neither LEGS or Ashcrofts supply Series III boxes any more so does anyone have any other reccomendations for suppliers ? Either someone who can supply a good exchange box or rebuild mine ?

I found this company on the web

If you're in the Somerset/Gloucestershire/Wiltshire area, try 3 Shires

4x4 at Swainswick on the A46 near Bath. They rebuild Landy boxes (they're doing mine at the moment). Recommended to me by one of our local parts suppliers who does business with them.

I can't speak to the quality of their work yet, but can let you know at the end of this week :)

Dave is pretty good, we (me and my dad) have been dealing with him for years. (I was about to recomend him, never realised he had a web site, that's a bit high tech for the Beaumont family ;-)
