Trouble starting & RPM problems - Now not starting ('94 Disco)

Aug 17, 2003 2 Replies

Just got back from a 600 mile drive with our 1994 Land Rover Discovery. Car was stopped and started several times. Then driven an additional 15 miles and stopped for 30 minutes. When we tried to start it again, the engine started but with very low RPM readings and finally died. Repeated restarts pumping the gas finally maintained high enough RPM to get up to speed. At which point, RPM stabilized and all seemed to be functioning "normally". However, while getting up to highway speeds we witnessed greater RPM fluctuations than usual.

This morning the car turns over, but does not start.

Any ideas???

Thank you in advance! Gwen

Just to update . . . Turns out it was the fuel pump.

Come on, Gwen! If we all start answering our own questions and sorting our own problems, where will this group be?
