V8 88" Exhausts

I know the likes of Steve Parker does a kit at just over £200 but is there a off the landrover shelf solution assuming I use Rangie manifolds? Will 90 stuff fit?

The problem is that not all 88" V8s have the engine in the same place or at the same height so even with an "off the shelf" 88" system you'll be lucky to get one that will fit.

On mine, I used RR manifolds then bought a complete steel 110 V8 system. With a saw and a welder you have enough spare tube and component parts to build an 88" system and still have bits left over. The centre box can be a pain to fit in the available space so I used a TD silencer (has the entry and exit at the same side) and hung that under the rear body.

Once you are happy with it you can either resign yourself to building a new one every few years or take the complete system to a specialist and have them make a stainless one to match.

When we put a V8 in our series II 88" I bought a complete system from Jake Wright.

I'm currently running Percy on a Single box, I belive if my memory serves me right it is from a big merc van but couldn't say to be honest. I was a little surprised that the 101 as standard (I assume) has only one box. By that I take it I could use the same type box or possible the one I have and get similar noise levels. Thinking about it logically it's going to be no noisier (sp?) than the Jag lump, and definately no noisier than the 101. So I just need to mate the pipes up at the mo if feasible.

I do like the idea of shortening a 110 system, the fact I'd had to make my own front pipes on Percy had kind of overcomplicated the whole thing.
