under landrovers classic/collectable here (occasionally) offroaders rant page (put it into google)

Buy (or look in the back of in WHSmiths) land rover owner, land rover enthusiast or other such publication. Theres always a few to give an idea of price.

Don't bother with autotrader, I've never seen a good one there. Good luck. You can pay up to 3500 for one thats mint/restored with a good new chassis, down to 150 quid for something thats a pile of scrap. 600-1500 is a good price guide for something roadworthy with a MOT

Local paper is worth a look at, and when you are out and about keep your eyes open. Got our series 3 from some one down the road from the kids school. Had seen it around for a bit, and one day there was a For Sale poster in the window.

If you've got a local non-franchised Landrover garage/workshop nearby then they'd be a good place to start. Similarly you might get some pointers from your local agricultural engineers/stockists. These sort of people tend to hear about LRs available.

There's also the comics, of course.

I've got a 1971 S3 for sale - non runner due to electrics. If it's not sold in one piece I'll have to break it.
