WTB: 101 Fluid Resevoir lids

Bloody hell is this the hard sell ? You really know how to bring in the sales ;-)

I'd be interested in a pair of course dependant on price..... do they come with an option for engravement ? ;-)

For Ambi owners ...an attachment to the pressure valve linked to the onboard compressor in turn linked to chain operated valve would make a nice emergency cord brake.

Bugger... now you've got me thinking about other bits I could commision like a onboard water tank filler...stop it!!!!

We _all_ do it as volunteers. Most of us actually end up paying for the "pleasure" too in odd ways like phone calls... If it wasn't for the Glory and queues of pretty girls I doubt any of us would bother.

No no no... Not unless we issue web credentials for Members Only...

Thanks for volunteering some time though, I may very well take you up on this if you ever find you have some :-)

I'm currently doing 5 hours a week on 101 club stuff - renewal season takes 8 hours a week minimum. At my busiest I took three days off work to clear backlogs. Keep those pretty girls coming my way... ;-)

I'd be interested, and so would my bro, depending on cost. We are landrover owners after all so broke by default :o)

Are we after exact copies of the orginal crappy plastic parts, or do we want the same size, but better materials ?

I'd go for same size, but better materials. I think im only after lids for mine though (but depending on what it costs for bodies...) Let us know how it comes on - I also have a few mates who might go for some for their S3's too!

The only problem with not having clear pots is that you cant easily see the fluid level. Not that you can on most normal cars anyhow (with it under the bonnet), but i like this aspect of the 101. I suppose that with a nice new lid and body though it wont be a struggle to unsrew the lids and look....

Ive just re-read that, and if you can make them pressure tight, and with a pressure tap/inlet on they sound even better!

You could authenticate people against your members database. Ask them to give their membership number and confirm some of their details. Or add an extra field to your database to allow show use/authentication (a password ro something). You do have a nicely maintained and current members database dont you Martyn? :-) This would make it as secure/members only as ringing Darren up is (i presume - he could ask me 101 club trivia when i try to order and i have to get the answers right...:-)

I'll talk to you at the shows this year. I feel i need a mobile 101 before i can commit to anything 101 related :)

For my own sanity I try to keep very strict boundaries around what I do for the club. The web site isn't one of those 'things', but interestingly, it is the primary source of new member applications...

Would one have to come along to an AGM to voice opinions about the website? Or it it only somewhat sparse because the internet man doesnt have the time to do much to it?

Tom if your up for a joint effort I'd consider it.. of course pending approval at the AGM.. Given when the AGM will be I will have a bit more time on my hands Post September. I'd promised myself I'd learn how to build a proper web site and toy around with graphics anyway.

Again, I think it's probably best to ask Andy that. I do know he's had a lot on, including an extended trip to Africa, providing First Aid cover at a number of events and the like, but I'm not sure it's really for me to pass comment. Any website is rather subjective I guess, the club site may look neglected but as I said before, it is the main source for new members.

I'd venture to suggest that the website could be improved most by members contributing content, rather than taking on a big 'new website' project. I've been involved in lots of websites and the really successful ones are those which start with good content, regularly updated and then work out the design and technicals to suit. Too many start with a big list of buttons and lots of 'coming soon' messages.

It would be a good start if the Six Stud folks could pass content to the website folks (not all of it, obviously, but the appropriate bits). Then perhaps it could be subdivided and lots of little webhelpers could wade in to support the webmaster.

Now, to suck an egg, first remove the shell....

Well I certainly fell into the trap of thinking it had to all intents and purposes been abandoned. Appologies to Andy should he read here... now back to the point... if anyone would like a Chuck give us a shout. (Envelope lickers included!). I will have some time and Intrest later in the year as already mentioned and don't particularly want a line of young ladies at the door either... just to see the site function and grow to feed my habit :-)
