ES330 w/Nav - Audio Screen On Startup?

Jul 16, 2004 3 Replies

I'd prefer to have the audio screen at start up rather than the "I accept" screen for the Nav. Is there a way to have the audio screen come on when I start up my ES330 with Nav/ML?

Most of my driving is around town and I don't use the Nav. I only use it on long trips or trips where I'm not familiar with the roads. It's a nuisance to have to switch over to audio every time I start up the car.

On the ES300, you have to turn the NAV off. You do this by pressing the "Display" button and selecting "Screen off" on the touch screen. Then press the "Audio" button. This setup results in the radio being on everytime you start the car.

To turn the NAV back on, just press the NAV button.

Thanks.

I tried this today. Now when I start the car, the screen is blank. What I'd like is for the audio screen to come on at start up. Is there a way to do that?

They might have disabled that feature on the ES330.

Even if you are able to do this. The screen has a screensaver feature. It turns itself off after a few seconds, so you're back to the blank screen. Press the "audio" button to restore the display.

Ask your dealer for the CBEST document. This lists all the firmware options you can change.
