I lost the owners manual for my Lexus LS400, and now a what appears to be a "carousel" icon lights up every once in a while. I thought it might be the air filter but i can't be sure. Does anyone have any ideal what it means.

If it looks like a circle with dashes up each side then it sounds like your brake pad thickness sensor circuit. The sensors have to be replaced if you let them get too thin.
What year was that LS?
My LS400 is a 1990, Old but run greats, breaks seem ok, but sensons might have gone off.
The lines go from up to down Sort of like the image below.
