A4 (2006) diesel 2.0l lost the acceleration on the way home... it does accelerate but slowly and not above 3000 revs. It struggled on the way up a decent hill in third. no smoke, bang or any other noise. no warning lights on the dash board.
any ideas?
if it is a turbo diesel then the turbo pipe may have split or fallen off.
Diagnosis - EGR valve - cost £360 incl labour and vat - does this sound right.
certainly possible, the valve is about 150 or so, the labour is steep, but not uncommon, depending on who you went to.
