407SW 2.0HDi 05 Plate - DPF dead

Aug 03, 2017 6 Replies

Hi all,

My 407 is struggling to the point of not being driveable.

Planet shows Particle Emission Filter Load - 95%

Does this mean DPF is clogged?

I have a replacement from eBay which will be fitted on Monday but and worried that it may be something else.

Many thanks, Mark

Very good chance it is considering the age, esp. if it's being strangled.

A soaking in traffic film remover and blasting out with a pressure washer is a very effective way of unblocking them.

Thanks Scott,

I will keep my fingers crossed. As my daily driver I can't do without it.

I did look at blasting it and if I could have removed it myself I probably would have.

Cheers, Mark

Did a friends BM and it did end up off the road for several days as it was a complete pain to get at and the pipework made it look like it wouldn't be blastable. I thought the Pug ones were fairly easy to get at down the front of the engine tho.

My lad had this problem on a 307 (iirc).

Mine's an SW and it's pretty much middle of the car. My drive is uneven which really doesn't help. Oh, and I'm not getting any younger :)

Cheers, Mark

Thanks ... hope this is all it is :)
