Bought this with driver side elec windows not working. Took the console apart and it looks like the wires to the switch have been cut.
Theres about 6 wires including 3 brown. The coloured ones are easy to match up but theres 3 brown...
Any ideas ? Or a wiring diagram ?
brown is earth, so it probably won't matter which goes where. that model always suffered from crap switches, a new switch always fixed the fault.
the switch is fine - I tried it on the passenger side window...
Why three earths though ???
The switch has double contacts so you need seperate earths for up and down. The other one could be for bulb.

it probably makes the switch cheaper to make.
If they're both earths, they're both connected together anyway.
Are we talking earth or negative here? Two different things if you are wanting a DC motor to rotate both ways.

NOt on a positive earth car they aren't. More to the point, on a window motor you switch the earth/negative between wires & the live between wires to make it go up or down. Did anybody ever make a positive earth car with electric windows?
How many people reading this are driving positive earth cars?
