Air bag indicator - MOT failure?

Sep 25, 2004 3 Replies

The air bag indicator on my 1996 Audi A6 doesn't go out within a few seconds after switching the engine on. It takes about two minutes to do so. Is this going to be a MOT failure point? Does the tester switch the engine off and on to test this?

As a secondary question, what might be the likely cause?

Thanks in advance.

not mot tested. most air bag faults need diagnostic gear to check. be aware that a fault may lead to it going off, I have never known one to go, but it could. incorrect checking procedure can also cause it to go, so be very cautious.
