not mot tested. most air bag faults need diagnostic gear to check. be aware that a fault may lead to it going off, I have never known one to go, but it could. incorrect checking procedure can also cause it to go, so be very cautious. mrcheerful mrcheerful
Read the full replyThe air bag indicator on my 1996 Audi A6 doesn't go out within a few seconds after switching the engine on. It takes about two minutes to do so. Is this going to be a MOT failure point? Does the tester switch the engine off and on to test this?
As a secondary question, what might be the likely cause?

ONly way you'll have a chance of finding anything other than a high resistance joint is Vag-Com.
