And bring the system up to at least 100psi when testing. If it is a small leak finding it can be hard, but look around the compressor, condensor and reciever/dryer.

You can get an air-con specialist to add fluroescent dye to the system with a nitrogen charge to help find the leak, use a UV lamp to find the marks left by the dye.

i dont know how much these systems hold, but it emptied it self in about 5 to 7 seconds, there was a loud pop and hiss, you could see the gas comming out under the car on the drivers side,.

Should be easy to find the leak then. Connect up to a nitrogen cylinder (you'll need the right air-con quick-release fittings) and open the regulator to allow the gas to flow. Listen for leaking noise.

Sounds like a damaged condensor or fractured pipe.

I would suggest getting it looked at by an aircon specialist then, as the couplers will cost about £10 each (there are 2), and on top of that you'll need hoses and a nitrogen cylinder and regulator, about £200 You'll also need a set of guages to see what presure the system is at, another £80.

By the time you've bought this lot you'll have paid for a pro to diagnose and repair / recharge twice over probably!
