Audi TT Water Pump

Mar 14, 2013 2 Replies

OK, seen a few very nice well cared for examples & some rough as s*it scrotecharriots.

I read about the plastic impellor breakups etc.

Problem is, if one has already broken up, how the hell do you know they have got all the bits out?

Also, there is some talk of metal water pumps less preferable than plastic?

Anyone have any real world experience of this issue?

Cheers

Nige

The impeller usually splits and spins/slips on the shaft. I don't think it breaks up,as such, into little pieces.

Usual indication of a pump problem is temperature problems. Tested by checking the sensor values each side of the pump.
