Heater set to recycle.
The wife??
In news:QD2qd.42740$ snipped-for-privacy@news.indigo.ie, mmurph30 decided to enlighten our sheltered souls with a rant as follows
The smell of smugness from the local Seat dealer... for he knows you bought the wrong car..
Maybe it's VW Ectoplasm? The ghost of decent handling is haunting most Mk4 Golfs..

Lift the carpet and see if it's wet underneath.
a lot of condensation in the car
Does it have air conditioning?
Does it have air-con ?

Oi, mmurph - why do you keep copying everything to me by email? There's no need, you know - and it gets rather irritating.
If there's condensation inside the car then it's getting wet somewhere.
I'd say the underfelt under the carpets has got wet/getting wet - it stinks terrible - had the same in a MK2 that had a blocked drain in the scuttle panel.
Ended up taking the carpets up and chucking out the underfelt.

You HAVE got the heater fan set on recycle.
In other words, set the fan to blow fresh air.
Flap will be motorised, probably broken.
lift carpets
Good point - also has it been serviced by a proper VAG garage i.e have the pollen filters been changed / water shilds leaking
Is the smell appears for the first few minutes then disappers could well be the a/c
take it to an a/c specialist OR get an aerosol from Halfords )follow the advicE) then once its sorted -
once a month 10mins with a/c on then 10 mins without a/c and on full heat+ max fan
i've removed the reply button to stop me doing it again.

Cor - bit drastic! It's a good job you don't pick your nose...
lifted out the back seats & found milk from the baby underneath. Problem solved!!!
