Brake problem ?

Recently (but about 2k miles after changing rear discs and pads), when I depress the brake hard when driving at about 15mph, I seems to get what I can only describe as like a 'clicking' feeling through the brake pedal. I also think the brake pedal doesnt go down the floor as much as it used to - but I could be wrong there...

At higher speeds, hitting the brakes quite hard doesnt seem to produce the same effect, although I cannot be sure if that. For sure though, at low speeds (5mph etc) hitting the brake does not cause this 'clicking'.

Any ideas ? She's a 2000, ST200 Estate if it makes any diff, and as I said, rear discs and pads where changed about 2k miles, fronts changed about 5 miles ago - both have plenty of wear and tear left on them yet.

I thought this too - but I dont think it is (unless the ABS is bust)

Conincidently I had to do an emergency stop tonight on the way home from work - doing about 40 on a country lane. Breaking was definately poorer than what I am used to on this car.

She's going in on Monday for some new shocks fitted - maybe I'll get them to have a look at the same time.

Did you clean the hub where the disks sit up against.... sounds silly but those bloody ford mondeo seem to have disks that take root to the hubs.... therefore some rust on the hub will give a sensation of a warped disk.
