Changing coolant

Jul 05, 2007 2 Replies

I'm about to change the coolant in my Yaris, I.m going to flush and put long life red in as opposed to the green thats in there, now , the coolant I have bought from toyota is ready mixed, so, will all the water (after flushing) come out when draining? if there is any left behind in the engine the ready mixed stuff will be diluted when I add it !

There will be some left in the bottom of the block and in the heater matrix and unless you take the rad and expansion bottle out, in there too.

God knows. Ask toyota if the stuff is compatible and don't bother flushing it? IIRC the green is long life too, so you should be without problems unless there's a specific reason for flushing. It's not like it's a 20 year old engine, or it's been run with plain water...
