Line scan is ~ 16kHz, a 500 'pixel' line would be 8MHz.

ISTR about 10Hz for the 819 system. But is is 50 years since I worked with it.. yes, we had a caption scanner at TVC which ran on 819 and we had a lovely HD monitor.
where does the 500 pixel per line figure come from ?
