Car Vauxhall Corsa 1998 Diesel 1.7 - 135'000miles
The car has started to make some sort complaining very quiet (open the window and radio off) intermittent squeaking noise, with some sort of what I can only describe as a grumbling noise, its not rumbling - really it just sounds better up in neutral.
I don't hold the car on the on the clutch, nor sit for eons with it on gear and the clutch down, but it I noticed it when I was slipping it into gear the other day.
Also I live atop a great big hill and there are 3 or 4 T-junctions on a steep hill that I have to stop at to get out of my estate, normally I can just slip the car into second and almost very nearly stop - check its clear - pull out, but recently as I get off the clutch in second there is an audible whine.
The clutch does not slip, and has been with the car since 60k when it was replaced shortly after I bought it due to a very noisy sloppy release bearing. All parts where changed -Both plates - release bearing and anything else that looked a bit iffy - cable gearlinkage etc.. Most of the miles it has accumulated have been motorway miles, but it has been used at times for lugging some heavy stuff around.
Does this sound like early stages of Clutch failure?
Should I just leave it until it starts to slip?
