Hi,
I was planning on getting my gearbox sorted this weekend then my clutch cable decided to snap! I presume this is why it needed adjusting as it must have been stretching, it's certainly rusty anyway.
My question is when I buy a new clutch cable is it just the inner 'moving' cable I get or the whole thing including outer case? As if it's just the inner one then i can easily thread it through and fix it, but the one that's just broken has lugs on each end which would obviously prevent this. If it's the whole outer one then I can't do it as it involves getting underneath the car to see what you're doing.
If you do have to replace the whole inner and outer cable then isn't that a stupid design as it's nearly always gonna be the inner one that breaks?!
It's a Citroen ZX 1.9D Aura 1992.
Any advice appreciated. Regards,
Gloddy.
