Coolant and overheating.

Hello all!

I am hoping you can help.

It seems like my coolant level is constantly drained -- in a matter of minutes of putting new ones in. Driving a block or two would cause the coolant to boil over and reach more than 275 degrees, which is extremely bad.

I don't think I have a leak. What's wrong with my car?

As other posters have pointed out, the head gasket has likely failed, assuming there's no major leaks in the hoses etc. If you keep running the car it could destroy the entire engine as the water gets in with the oil, if it hasn't happened already. If you drain out the engine oil you may find a lot of water comes out the sump plug first, which probably means serious engine damage.

*Never* run a car with a cooling issue this bad, not even briefly- it can be catastrophic.

Head gasket. Don't drive it until it's checked or you will probably regret it.
