Coolant type for citroen xsara 1.4

Mar 16, 2006 4 Replies

Hi, My water is starting to run a little low in my Xsara 1.4i. What coolant is best to add - just normal tap water, deinonised water, distilled water, something else or doesnt it matter!

I have access to a distilled water still at work but the pH of the water is somewhat high at around 10 - I'd imagine that that is a bad thing and best not to use?

When adding water, if you live in a soft water area then just bung it in from the tap. But because it is still rather chilly at night you would be as well using anti freeze just to be safe. Use stuff that is the same colour as what is already there, if you can see it.

I used ready mixed Comma Coldstream in our ZX 1.4 for refilling and topping up.

So fill up with anti-freeze!
