I have a friend who owns a Daewoo Nexia.....honest it's not me....no honest it isn't. Anyway its a 1.5 on a P plate. It has developped an unhealthy apetite for oil and appears to be pouring it out through the cam shaft oil seal. Daewoo man recons the head needs to come off and will probably need to be skimmed. Is this true or just a money spinner from the man who can? Can I get a service manual for it and is it exactly the same as an astra? Thanx again. Gary

I think the Nexia is an Izuzu engine not a Vauxhall BICBW. Why should the head need skimming if it's an oil seal that's gone? Shirley you only skim the head if the head gasket's gone?

Thanks Malc but please don't call me Shirley....I only use that name at the weekend!!!!!!!
Isuzu , Vauxhall and Daewoo all recomend that their heads are skimmed every time they are removed whether or not the head gasket is suspect, apparently the head can warp slightly in use which will not show up until you remove and refit it and then the head gasket leaks.
