39 thou miles, no service history. nice looking car, drove well, but on opening the glove box, i found the current mot certificate which said 125thou at the last mot in April. seems obvious what has gone on here. i walked away. should i notify anyone?Steve

The Police would be a good one to notify providing you didn't tell him you noticed it.
He'll be one less rip off merchant around.

Yes. You should notify Trading Standards, preferably while the MOT is still in the glove box for them to find.
I'm willing to bet they won't be interested.
Only if they've had many other complaints. Clocking is so rife they haven't the man power to follow up every reported case.
