I have a 2004 Fiesta. About 1 minute after leaving work yesterday I was pulling away in first gear when the car shuddered before I could fully raise the clutch and I lost power. The backlight which normally illuminates the fuel readout etc on the dashboard started to flash and it said "EAC FAIL".
I stopped the engine and restarted it and everything was fine.
Does anyone know what EAC Fail is? Does it happening once mean I'm headed for trouble in the near future?

EAC = Electronic Accelerator Control
Looking at TIS it could be one (or all!) of the followiing:
Duff battery APP sensor - variable resistor that tracks accelerator pedal movement. TCU - Throttle Control Unit, motor that works the throttle flap Engine PCM Cabling
It's probably the APP, but as the car is still under warranty, get it round your local dealer to read the trouble codes, and replace any iffy parts.
