You mean an Ecotek valve, you put it in the vacuum pipe and it generates turbulance in the throttle body which (in theory) gives you better economy and performance aswell as reducing emissions.
As to whether they work or not, different people say different things - some seem to work better on some cars than others. My friend had one for his Micra, no big difference in fuel economy but he noticed improvements mid to top end of the rev range - although he might just be imaginging it.
The thing you put in a fuel line is a Powerboost valve to boost fueling to the engine - dunno much more about these.
Or did you mean this...
I "think" you are referring to the magnetic device which claims to give the results you mention, along with softening water, curing arthritis and raising the dead. Such and similar claims appear in uk-diy from time to time and are generally considered to be so much hot air or snake oil by all contributors with the possible exception of the resident loon

I don't think so. The guy has a posting history going back a few years, mainly to computing groups.

Fair enough. It came up at the same time as a magnetspam in another group I read and just looked a bit suspicious. I apologise reservedly!
You mean the eco-tek. I got one and yes it worked. £50.00 quid for the gadget and it gave me an extra 50 miles per tank. Didn`t notice any performance gain though. I am always cynical of things like these though. If they are that good then why aren`t the manafacturers using them. That said it worked for me.
Probably reducing the amount of air coming into the engine, so the ECU is reducing fuelling. IMO.
I fitted one to my Skoda Favorit (1993 1.3i) some months ago and MPG seems go have gone up by about 15%. I'm not attempt to defend this in terms of how it may or may not work, or in terms of a stastically robust investigation of my fuel consumption, but I do believe it works.
