Fiat Marea 2.o Hlx Cambelt Change

Hi,

I need to replace my Cambelt and have heard that it very expensive. M local Fiat garage have quoted over £800. I have heard that there is garage in Hertfordshire (or could be Essex) that specialises in doin these for £400ish. Does anyone know of this garage or other garage that does it cheap? I am willing to travel if it saves me £400

There's a garage I use in Wolverhampton, 20v cambelt changes for £350, but that's probably a bit far for ya....

Depends what you actually want done. Changing _just_ the cambelt can be done with the engine in situ. Changing the belt and tensioner (IMHO you'd be a fool not to change both) is definitely an engine out job.

They claim to do the tensioner as well for £400. I've never used them myself though.

Had my Cambelt, water pump & service done at Motormech (Birmingham)

Excellent job, price and service, well recommended. However, my AB pump has failed. I have contacted a few people who are breaking thei FIATs and asked for this part. Anyone know where in the engine it i situated? How hard it is to remove? Any help welcomed.. Anyone go one
