Ford 6 year bodywork guarantee

Has anyone taken legal action through a small claims court when a car dealer has not honoured Ford's 6 year corrosion warranty? I have been in discussion with my local dealer for 8 months about the extensive rust on my now five and a half year old Escort and am getting no-where. Any replies would be gratefully received even if you think I am bonkers!!!

I wish you the best of luck. Ford are piss-poor in this respect.

Thank you Paul. I think I am wasting my time but it will be worth the small claims court admin fee if it makes them rethink their attitude towards customers. I'll keep you posted

Debbie ( snipped-for-privacy@aol.com) gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying :

Does the Ford anti-corrosion warranty include periodic inspections/retreatments?

Have these been carried out? Has it had accident repair work carried out by anybody other than a Ford dealer's bodyshop?

All good reasons for 'em to get out of it.

I dont think so Adrian. They took so long to produce log books, service histories etc and the only paperwork I have is in the front of the service book they eventually provided. It is very vague!!!. They have inspected the car. A paint density meter ran half the recommended amount on some areas of the car. Even the bodywork man said that bits of the car did not have enough layers of paint. I only have this verbally, however. Never mind. I will persevere. Thanks for all your comments. They are really appreciated, even if they only confirm that I am not alone. ps Have just obtained Ford Director's name and address!! courtesy of UK legal, I think.

On some older models, it's an anti-perforation warranty, so it doesn't cover you from top down rust, only from bottom-up....

But good luck.
