I run a Ford Transit with direct injection (non turbo) 2.5ltr diesel engine.
The valves need adjusting but its so long since I last did this (simple!) job, and also am not familiar with Ford engines so;
1) At which end is valve No.1....the front, or the rear?
2) Which are the larger sized valves.........exhaust or inlet?
