Galaxy interior light problem

Driver (front) courtesy light has failed. The bulb works, all other interior lights work off all the doors (so the fuse and switches are OK). The adjacent reading light is OK.

So either the wiring loom is faulty or the 3 -position switch (off-doorswitch-permanently on) is broken. Or, anything else?

Thoughts?

It'll be the door switch - probably a dirty contact as their usually just open metal affairs. Try giving it a good workout manually and see if it comes back to life. Either way, it should just be a "one screw and it'll drop out" affair if it's anything like SWMBO's Escort (which reminds me that the passenger side one is dodgy and needs looking at) and a bit of light sanding should have the contacts like new.

Can't be. It operates all the other interior lights correctly.

Ah! Sounds like there's more than one light which I missed.

Yes indeed. One on the base of each door, one each in the front foot wells, two in the cargo bay, one roof light over the front seats and one over the centre row of seats.

Hence the very heavy duty battery... :-)

LOL! Sounds like an improvement on SWMBOs Escort though - one light in the centre of the roof that completely fails to illuminate any area of the car sufficiently. And there's no switches on the rear doors.
