glow plug relay / starter solenoid

there is no feed from the ignition, looks like a break between the switch and the solenoid coils, so I've bridged from the battery to the fuel cut off and left the wires bare and, well now I've put the only switch I could find in the wire; a circuit breaker. So I have to open the boinnet each time I want to start up or shut down.

Wierd, with the wire bridging that line the plugs heat and everything works ok. I'll put an inboard switch in so I can keep my hand clean. Book shows a fuse B1, all others are 'F's, and I can't find that fuse so I'm not going to look much harder, the car's about ready to go if it's electrics are going. I don't have the time or patience to play with it. I'll try cleaning the contacts inside the ignition switch maybe...

Unless someone can direct me to where that fuse is or I spot a loose terminal at some stage.

I noticed the clock light has not glowed since I went to London a week ago. It may've been the same for a while.

Too lamp from rear of clock the filament has fused.

If this tiny bulb is the cause of my problems then I'll feel comfortable in my belief I know what Haynes talks about when it mentions B1.

Can't be, can it??

Wasn't. :(

Didn't think it could be. That little lamp can only be a quarter amp max.

But it did blow so back to the book.
