There are essentially 2 kinds of 'car enthusiasts'.
Those who put up with some of the pain in exchange for the quirks and / or performance - and those who drive dull Far Eastern heaps of characterless junk, because 'it's reliable'.

I really enjoyed my MX5. You could make it more interesting by replacing some of the parts with Fiat ones.
All of which fail early and are sufficiently vital to demand replacing. Then one day it fails for 3rd time in 15 years and it's going to cost more than the car is worth.
Turbo I hope. OK it's possibly the best FWD car ever made. But its still going to scrabble like a mini if you add power.
For real excitement get a Fiat X1/9. Then unbalance and overpower it. Fit a V6.

An Élan will keep him busy. The side windows fall out every few minutes. They are execrable pieces of s*it.
XJR 370bhp auto (they all are) about 1800Kg, 205bhp/tonne.
Someone thought they had ID'ed the Porker but may be wrong, as a mid eighties Carrera 3.2 ltr 230 bhp weighs about 1280kgs, 180bhp/tonne. You would have be a real anorak to know one from another and there's no telling what he had done to it. Cack hand drive.
OK a new 991 Carrera with 237bhp/tonne and lot more rubber would have just F'ed off.
