How much?

Indeed; there are others who buy MOT's stolen from testing stations, and up until recently have been able to obtain tax with them. As everything can be checked online now, such certificates are of little use. Consequently, from next year, you will just get a print out of the vehicle and testing station details, together with any failed items. Usefully, any advisories will also be on the same sheet, so can't be hidden by anyone selling the vehicle.

For a lot less than that you could fit a wideband sensor set with programmable output. They can give a narrow band simulation too - to mimic any type of sensor.

all that appears to be wrong is that the heater circuit has burnt out!

The heater in the sensor or the drive circuit? If it's in the sensor, it's a bit like saying this bulb is fine - it's just the filament which has gone. ;-)
