Hi all, can anyone help ? i was out in my landrover disco on the weekend and went through some horrible dirty water and since the motor has lost power and just about stays on tickover i'm wondering if anyone has had this or anyone has any ideas what i have done, i have checked fuel and elecs which all seem good. thanks keith.
If you went through it quickly then it's likely that the air intake has sucked some water in. The intake is right at the height where deep water that's thrown over the tyres will be almost forced in. Front nearside wheelarch. Take turbo, airfilterand all inlet piping off. It's possible that the air filter has mushed up and stopped any water getting through (hopefully!!) and feckin' the turbo or engine and isn't letting enough air through now.
