My son in law is thinking of buying a 57 plate Lexus as above. 59000miles with FSH. Petrol/hybrid. Does anyone know if this has a DSG transmission? Also does anyone know of any gotchas with this model. Being Lexus (Toyota) it should be fairly good but any info gratefully received. Thanks, Nick.

It is a CVT, but not the belt-and-pulley type that's normally thought of. It's a rather clever planetary, needed because you've got two inputs, one of which is also one of the two outputs. Hybrids won't work any other way.

Very clever and incredibly robust / reliable.
They are at present the only effective way of utilising the hybrid setup economically and efficiently. At first they seem strange, but you quickly get used to their ways.
